Bird sightings

The garden camera watches for birds all day. When it spots one, a second AI model guesses the species from 964 kinds of birds. Each card is one visit: the best picture of it, the species guess, and when the bird was here. The guesses are automatic and can be wrong, especially for small or blurry birds.

Bird spotting started on October 31, 2026. The camera sees one frame every 2 seconds, so quick visits can be missed. Pictures are cropped from the live video, which is why they're small. Species model: Google's AIY birds classifier.
